I think Webber has to take the lion's share of the blame

Smith isn't working and that's clear.

But spending huge sums on South Americans who really need time to adapt to being in a different country, culture and league when we really needed players to hit the ground running was really daft.

Not buying a capable, consistent winger when your manager's preferred formation is dependent on them is really ridiculous.

Falling out with local media and stubbornly refusing to mend rifts when it's just piling extra unnecessary pressure on a beleaguered head coach just beggars belief too.
