Look around you, there are any number of fans who are, effectively, Never-Smiths.
A recent MFW column spent thousands of words suggesting that the lack of a declared attendance figure vs Blackburn was some kind of deep-state plot ["Was this grudgingly released crowd figure deliberate disinformation?... Well, I’m sorry about this but I simply don’t believe it. To the point that I would welcome an investigation by either the FA or the EFL. "]
Fact 1 - did this quasi-official outlet ask the NCFC Comms team about the declared figure? If they didn't ask then how can there be a conspiracy?
Fact 2 - tickets-sold has been the official figure since the days of Chase. It's hardly a secret, and it is uniform across the industry (remember the grief that Arsenal used to get when they declared a 60k gate in the late-days of Wenger?)
Simply put, when things are not going well it is fashionable to 'have a go'. And, boy, everyone is having a go.
