Dean Smith's press conference ahead of the Blackburn Rovers fixture is coming up at 9am ⏰
------------------------------------------------------------
DS: "I think there's only Sam Byram, Lungi and Jonny Rowe who are out. Everybody else has trained some bit this week."
DS on Liam Gibbs, who turns 20 today: "I feel that he's competing for a place in midfield, such is the quality he possesses. A good range of passing and can switch play, good legs on him, can cover ground quickly."
DS on Swansea: "Defensively, it was what we wanted. They’ve had one big chance through Naughton. They could have had another hour against us and still not scored. We just needed to be more progressive with the ball.”
DS on Blackburn Rovers: "They’ve won more games than us, but lost more games than us. They are a dangerous side, with the likes of Brereton, Dack and Gallagher."
DS on Ben Brereton Diaz: "He’s a really dangerous finisher. That said, they need to get the ball to him."
DS on Carrow Road: "We need to be more ruthless and convert our superiority in games. A lot is made of the fans; when you win they are happy and if you lose they aren’t happy."
DS on the break: "The players knew what we needed to do to be better. We were all in agreement."
DS on the past week: "It’s been a good coaching week and next week will be too. We get messaging across to the players."
DS on squad competition: "It's nice to have fit left-backs. It's good for me because I've got two players competing. Then, I've got Andy who is back pushing Grant and Ben. I've got Adam Idah pushing Sarge and Teemu."
---------------------------------------------------------------
That concludes Dean Smith’s press conference.
