It was. The Spanish ref who went card crazy was terrible too.

No idea what criteria they’re using to decide which referee is “good” and deserves these massive games, but those two have been really really poor. A shame, as there have been lots of good refs putting in really good performances earlier.

I suspect it’s politics. The kudos of massive games going to the massive footballing nations, even though their best refs are appalling.
