For England to have a chance in this WC

We need to over perform. Our squad isn’t good enough to beat the best teams just by being decent, we need something extra.

I can’t see a Southgate side ever delivering that. We’re too safe, too worried about giving something away that we stifle our creativity in the process.

Shame because I think this squad has some real talent. Because of that talent, we might do ok, but we won’t do any better or worse than we should.
