Isn’t this an open invitation for a fresh cohort of scammers to scam people? “This is the Metropolitan Police. Send us all your bank details and we’ll send you the £10,000 in compensation you are due immediately.”.

Anyway, I haven’t the time to get involved, as all my free time is taken up trying to assist a former senior civil servant in the Ministry of Mines in Sierra Leone in releasing 10m USD in already requisitioned but no longer needed contract funds. He’s willing to split it with me once it’s out of the country, but it’s proving surprisingly tricky - and costly - to actually move the funds. Will keep plugging away though. Wish me luck.
