I bet my day has been a bit more rubbish than yours

I’m supposed to be having a lovely pre Christmas weekend away in Edinburgh with my sisters, instead I’m on the train back to Peterborough (then Norwich).

I set off full of hope at midday, only to spend the trip up to Newcastle squashed against the toilet in a train full of three previously cancelled travellers. At Newcastle I queued for two hours for a bus replacement to Edinburgh. When I found out it would be another hour (and then a 3 hour bus ride to Edinburgh) I gave up and caught the train home again
