There’s something to be said for letting the team and players decide how they perform their roles and contributing to formulation of the game plan that they’re going to have to execute
But…. Assumes they have footballing brains, that they’re being given the appropriate direction/intentions/parameters within which to work, and that they understand what’s expected of them.
It could just as easily be seen as passing the buck and not taking any responsibility…
Also I don’t see how this approach has a hope in hell of working when the team is chopped and changed so often. How do players develop the understanding with the bloke next to him that would be needed for such independent thought?
