I'm going to play devil's advocate on this one

However, a serious question arises - England winning the World Cup would indeed be a memorable achievement but in the light of recent history what would City (and us supporters) actually be likely to achieve by gaining promotion back to the Premier League? A lot of pain for sure! Just saying.
