Obvious question is what progress did you agree to make?

Did you agree a Gantt chart / deliverable dates / etc? Is there a critical path?

Did you promise to do more than you have actual done? Are there extenuating circumstances?

They aren't happy. What are they going to do about it? Moan a bit or will they lawyer up? Can you pass the s**tburger on to someone else?
