Maddison. should he be on the plane?

On the one hand I think he’s consistently been the best English midfielder in the premier league and would also provide a playmaking role england have sorely been missing. Too good not to play for England.

On the other hand he has been around a while and still he isn’t proven in an England shirt, so if Southgate were to select him in the 26 after spending the last couple of years of trying out just about every other English midfielder, it would suggest that Gareth is going to a tournament without a group of 26 in which he has full confidence of success.

I don’t think he will make the cut, not even on standby if there is such a thing these days.

What do you think? Should / will he be ok the plane?
