absolutely counts situations like that, and rates them very highly. Simply because a 2v1 attack will result in a goal very often; the chance is whether or not the final pass is made. The ridiculous thing is that it would have counted it if Cantwell would have tried a shot from 40 yards.
If you want to accurately measure the goals you expect a team to score on average based on the game, then you have to include situations like that. If you don't then you aren't measuring expected goals, you are measuring expected goals just from the situations when a shot is taken.
