Off to see The Seagull (Chekhov) at the cinema later

One of those National theatre live things.

My favourite, favourite play. Am quite worried that it'll be awful and my other half will be put off Chekhov forever.

Done right, it's poignant, funny, devastating.

Done wrong (I'm looking at you Cherry Orchard in Exeter in the 90s) it can be the most boring, ludicrous thing in the world.

(cue Withnail and I quotes...)
