The Telegraph article states they are just October so comparing the same time periods

But there has been a big excess deaths problem since May this year and worse than the summer of 2020 which didn’t see that much excess death between the 2 massive covid waves.

Predictably in some quarters these are being blamed on the vaccine as you can see from the nutter tweet I linked to.
