Max and Dowell were on and able to carry the ball past a player and break the QPR line - that created more space further ahead as a defender had to move out of position to engage them.
I know it was late in the game and whoever they went past might have been tired, but it shows the difference when one of our player can carry the ball past one of theirs. It was a welcome break from the back 4 ponderously playing the ball between themselves, desperately hoping for some gaps to appear.
I actually dont have a problem with the defence keeping possession and switching it from side to side, so long as it's done with a bit more purpose and zip, so it actually has to make the oppo work and hopefully drag them out of position to create that space/gap. But we do it so slowly and it's predictable.
I couldn't see from TV but I wondered if Hayden and Gibbs' movement was enough in those situations? I certainly saw Nunez come deep to get the ball when he came on.
