Beating in mind that key management personnel continue to take circa £3m a year out of the club.
We have Zoe who seems to now preside over a club where it’s hard to identify one single area where customer service or the club seems as good (to me as a fan anyway) as it was two/three years ago.
We then gave a set of accounts which paint a worrying picture should we fail to go up and suggestions from Bailey that Smith will not get sacked because we can’t afford to sack him.
And then we have the shambles that is the first team squad, led by a manager who has not produced one good performance all season yet seems to feel under zero pressure. A manager appointed by our Sporting Director who no doubt also gets paid very handsomely yet:
1. Has fallen out with all the local press to the extent they are denied access;
2. Is openly interviewing for other jobs, presumably with the blessing of his wife who is the only one who appears to oversee him;
3. Appointed the crap manager we now supposedly can’t afford to sack;
4. Has allowed a situation where NINE first team players are out of contract at the end of the season;
5. Has assembled a squad reliant on one on loan defensive midfielder who was injured when we got him and promptly missed 15 games out injured.
6. Has left us reliant on serial crock Byram as back up right back;
7. Has got rid of all our wingers bar one and any other pace in the side when the manager supposedly wants to play 4-3-3, a formation that needs pace in wide areas.
8. Seems to have now run through all our saleable assets (save for a couple who diminish in value by the week) to leave us with a squad that is worse than the one we had two years ago.
To be fair to him, I still believe a competent coach has us challenging in this dog sh*t division but it’s increasingly clear to me that Webber has been dining out on a couple of early good signings and the Farke appointment for some time now and his lack of commitment plus lack of any oversight on this couple is an issue.
