I think he might be implying that not taking the chances is something out of his control

i.e. that the way he set the team up got us in great positions on the counter, but the players were too s**t to take advantage, because they can't even make simple passes consistently.

It does seem a weird thing for him to focus on anyway. We scored two and missed a penalty - it was the defence and inability to control the game that cost us, not the attack.
