With the exception of Skipp, in the league below, I'd say the policy of signing young up and coming players from big clubs on a season long loan has been garbage.
A lot of Prem reserves may be better, in a better team, but I've seen little to suggest that these superstars would do better than the people who got us promoted.
That we'd struggle to sign them says more about the stupid premium that Prem reserves command, than their skills tbh.
The value of having someone gel with the squad and a vested interest in keeping us up shouldn't be underestimated.
I'd prefer to see that route used sparingly rather than as a default.
Loan to buys are a different kettle of fish.
