If a friend got banned from wherever they currently live

How would you pitch your city/town/village/hamlet as a good place to relocate to?

After yesterday's thread, I got to thinking about where I live. Over two decades I've definitely become a proud Cardiffian.

A few years back there was a thing pitching us as a littlebigcity and I think that catches the vibe well.
Cardiff has the attractions of a metropolis and the culture of a village. Friendly, spitting distance from glorious hills and beaches a weird unsung rolling collection of quirky shops/bars/venues/clubs/communes which you only tap into once you've lived here for a year or two. Properly multicultural. Great unfussy food.

Cardiff (and nearby Brizzol) have both been described (and empirically proven) to be 'sticky' - people arrive here to work or study, and stay. Or they leave, and boomerang back (my partner returned a few years back from over a decade in Singapore).
There's only two or three degrees of separation, but there's anonymity if you want.
At core it's the people that make a place really, I suppose. Cardiff seems to attract nice ones.
