Much well-deserved praise for our armed services today.

My grandfather (Welsh Guards) was involved with George VI’s funeral. A Normandy veteran, he once told me it was the most nerve-racking thing he’d ever done. So much so, he volunteered for a foreign posting rather than be part of QE2’s coronation. A well-deserved pint for all, I hope.
