And whining and moaning when you’re second is, no doubt, entitlement central. Fans of other clubs looking in would roll their eyes at us and wonder just what the hell we expect here.

I suppose what people see is that quite a few of the performances in our winning streak were a bit ropey. Sure, a lot of wins and you can’t argue with that, but just the sense that we might be riding our luck and perhaps we’re going to get found out as we start playing top half teams. I think that’s what I feel. That coupled with the knowledge of where you need to be in order to compete (by compete I only mean have a non negligible probability of finishing 17th or higher) in the Prem, a standard of performance that we are currently miles off it seems to me. I put all that and despite being happy with 2nd place and the recent run, it’s hard to feel really satisfied with my football life. I think this is a variant of the ailment BWOD reported.
