Indeed

The message is delivered with a baseball bat throughout.

But there are a number of scenes that are so well acted and are so unbelievably tense - overall it has to be worth seeing:

Ryan Philippe and the stand-off with the black tv producer, The Iranian Shop owner and the locksmith, Matt Dillon 'frisking' that woman, Ryan Philippe again picking up the carjacker.

You end up watching it all through your fingers.
