I think that deep midfield role is the hardest on the pitch, so often playing with back to attackers, needing to receive and retain the ball, make accurate passes that the crowd see as “simple”. It’s the role that has the biggest change of making a mistake that is noticed, as compared to an attacking flair player that tries something that doesn’t come off, the crowd is generally glad they tried.

If we never noticed Kenny in that role, he’d be playing for top half of the prem club.
