doubt he is England's third best keeper

he is there because there are no other candidates and he happened to be playing well when the third keeper vacancy came up a couple of years ago. He's still there because of inertia (stick with the safe option - the current incumbent - until an obvious replacement appears) rather than because of his current performance levels.

Does anyone seriously think that if the third keeper vacancy came up for the first time now (say Seaman only just retired) that Green would get it? No chance whatsoever.
