The inevitable path ahead is:

Anyone organising anything cancels it, out of fear of being accused of being unpatriotic and insufficiently grief-stricken.

People get more and more annoyed that they can’t get on with life.

Eventually the backlash is loud enough that things start again.

Only question is how many days it takes.
