A dangerous approach for what could be a relatively short term issue

Eventually additional wind and nuclear generation will come on stream and let’s be honest, we will start buying gas and oil from Russia at some point in the future (when Vlad is brown bread and the regime changes).
At that point people will be asking why they are paying way above the prevailing market rates for energy.
Sometimes you have to suffer short term periods of hardship - our grandparents did this on many occasions.
Surely the lessons of creating huge debts for future generations to fix a short term current issue haven’t been forgotten? We did this 2 years ago FFS.
