For starters the fact that they ‘re based in Wales and are called Welsh Fire means West Country types will never support them - and nominally this franchise is meant to also represent (in terms of potential fan base) Glos and Somerset as well.
A Hundred franchise in the West Country would I think get some support - certainly if games were spread between Bristol and Taunton, with branding that didn’t favour either county. Supporters here in the West Country feel alienated from the comp and hate the Fire with a passion. Mind you the real hardcore would never attend the hundred full stop as they hate the ECB and the fact that smaller counties were left out of this
