I have now watched the BETTER CALL SAUL finale and there are *spoilers* within this post

Enjoyed the series, enjoyed the lead up to the finale, enjoyed the finale but really didn't like the self sabotage at the end, mainly because it made no real sense. I know why they did it, but it didn't really work for me.

They'd given plenty of indication that the criminal case against Kim was not likely to proceed due to lack of evidence, and a few lines of court testimony by Saul would have done nothing to get her off the hook for any civil case, as she'd given a detailed witness statement confessing. Was it really worth giving himself life in jail to say one line (which he almost didn't get in) about Kim having nothing to do with it?

So my conclusion - decent enough idea (if a bit predictable) but not brilliantly executed and, strangely for this show, a bit rushed.

Still, it was better television than I could ever begin to make so I will let them off.
