to play midfielders in defensive positions and her we are again - we basically have one fit full back at the club.

Yes its bad luck to get 3 full backs injured at the same time but when one is Byram (and he was already injured in pre-season when he doidn't play at all) and McCullum is also coming off the back of an injury hit season then its perhaps not as unlucky as it may seem.

Sorensen is actually our only fit "defensive" midfielder as well which is an area where we might have needed him.

I just don't get why, if we thought loaning Mumba out is a good idea, we didn't at least wait until towards the end of the window, particularly as selling Max was and remains a possibility if an offer comes in.
