Farke had a style and technical nous way above anything Smith has shown and of course our team always missed Emi but it never changed his style and tactics. Besides, there is so much more to being a manager not least motivation and inspiration. This mantra being traipsed out by some that somehow all Farke's championship success was due to Emi is nonsense. Emi was an outstanding player but no one player ever comes close to the overall importance of a good manager. Farke was a brilliant tactician, man-manager and motivator and for the life of me I see little of any of these assets in Smith and even if we had Emi back I don't think we would see much improvement with Smith as manager. With a decent squad Farke would've been a successful Prem manager just as he was in the Championship with the right squad. The truth is he was never close to getting a Perm squad that could compete. On the other hand Smith now has a decent Championship squad and I don't think he's capable of getting us promotion. As always I hope I'm wrong and I wish Smith well but he's no longer a new manager and his record is dire with no sign of improving.
