I get the high press thing, and I get how Smith envisages this might work.
What concerns is the lack of pragmatism - for pretty much his entire tenure we've been plugging away with a style that's not getting the best out of the players we've got (which is masked by the argument that all the players are crap - I don't think they are... They might not be the best, but I think they're better than they're doing - many have played better, in different systems).
If, as with Farkeball it made sense because some of those players would transition to the new system, that'd be reassuring.
What concerns me remains the man management - with the exception of maybe idah, which players do you reckon will thrive under this new approach?
And if Smith's job was to completely overhaul the squad, his appointment, at the time he was appointed, makes even less sense than it did before.
