The two variations of the argument defeat me

We’ve either got terrible players that even Pep couldn’t get a tune out of, or they’re all nearly ok and just need one or more additions and we’ll be champions in no time.
If the players are nearly ok then what’s wrong is the tactics and that seemed to me to be the issue today.

If they’re terrible then why did we sign them in the first place - and/or why were they not this terrible a couple of years ago - because it can’t all have been down to Emi making them all world beaters.

Some players are so brilliant they can rise above anything but there aren’t many and I somehow doubt that they’ll be fetching up at Norwich anytime soon.
