Neither are great defenders, as is common with fullbacks these days, but to accommodate them you really need someone like Skipp who will and can fill in for them.
There are very few teams who have that level of defensive midfielder and unfortunately I think managers sign these attacking fullbacks and attempt to solve the defensive part with a DM or two depending on formation, but most of them fail and sadly the fullbacks are the ones who will get the criticism although much of it is down to a manager or coach insisting on playing a system relying heavily on having a top quality DM or two, but failing to fill that position because very few teams can.
In years gone by both of those would have been wingers in a 4-4-2. Same with Mumba.
