Firstly, are the players fit enough to press they way he wants consistently? So far they've not shown it
Secondly, Rashica. Is he good enough to do what he wants.
Thirdly, I think the system could suit Pukki if we had two Cantwell types behind him but Smith seems.ro want wingers. Pukki would thrive if the wide attackers drift inside, causing problems for Central defenders and creating gaps for pukki, all with their ability to thread the ball through.
Smith seems to want overloads out wide, with space vacated in the middle for midfield runners. It not clear where the final chances come from, other than breaks and pressing.
Finally, even if it all works eventually, it's a lot to ask for it to come together this season, especially with so much riding on one player who has had an unresolved knee injury for 18 months hasn't played since December.
