It’s starting to remind me of a conversation I had with an Ippo back when the internet was dial-up - possibly on the old Bamford board.

It was in the dark days of Rioch/Hamilton I think.

I was full of optimism for a new season and the Ippo said pityingly to me “why do you think it’s going to be any different? You’ve got the same players who were lower-mid table last season. Why will they do any better?”

And I realised that I didn’t have an answer

The transfer window summer 2021 destroyed our team. We lost Skippy and Emi and bought a pile of very, very average players for far too much money.

They were crap under Farke

They’re still crap

No amount of polishing is going to make them good
