Jack Walker: willed to the club to a Trust who, after a few years, decided they couldn't afford to keep spending and sold to the Venkys

Jack Hayward: sold the club for a fiver but with a promise to "invest". That didn't end well. And only with Chinese money (and the dubious Mendez-links) have Wolves reached lower-PL level.

It really is inarguable that more clubs have failed than have succeeded. But when it isn't your money it is very easy to ignore the odds.
