But you can be of minimal use to me
Hypothetical question for you:
Q1: if Boris/May had completely acquiescenced to every request Greta Thunberg made over the last, say 5 years, do you think they would be responsible for UK energy policy or would Greta be responsible?
Q2: The UK has pretty much led Europe in transitioning to renewable energy. The UK closed coal based energy generation, largely closed down North sea gas and banned fracking. This led to decreased energy security and increased reliance on imported energy while reducing carbon emissions. Do you support this policy? This Tory policy? If not, do you think the transition to net zero was too fast or too slow?
Q3: Germany is basing her energy policy on Lignite - the dirtiest form of coal. Also funding the Russian invasion of Ukraine in order to sustain energy imports. Much of the EU either burns coal or imports Russian gas. The UK doesn't. UK inflation circa 9.5%. No coal. No Russian gas. The EU inflation average is circa 8.5%. Coal + Russian gas. Lithuania does not burn coal due to environmental concerns and does not buy Russian gas on ethical grounds. Her inflation rate is circa 18.5,%. Which of those 3 policies do you prefer?
Q4: Would you support UK return to coal and fracking to reduce energy costs?
Q5: Fuck the environment or f**k the poor??? That's pretty much what this boils down to. Maybe f**k Ukraine? Which are you going to opt for?
