Sadly 'success' at youth development is subjective

It seems to me that when the Academy is struggling then the club line is "performance not results" and bigging up the role of Academies in developing footballers for the entire pyramid

But when we do well (FAYC win or Aarons/Godfrey) then the 'One of our own' and self-congratulation goes into hyperdrive.

Look at our Lambert side; Fox, Johnson, Pilks, Lansbury, Rudd. All players who took a step down from top-level Academies in order to be successful.
Can you argue that Arsenal, Man U & Everton didn't help the produce players for the pyramid?
