Mourdant is at least someone that Labour will have to think more creatively about - eg Rayner’s working class shtick won’t land in quite the same way.

And that’s better for all of us if it means they can come up with some solid policies to win over the centre ground as it will push the Tories to do the same.

Starmer/Rayner vs Mourdant/Tugendhat (or someone reasonably unblemished by BJ) could be an interesting scenario.
