and hadn't he signed an extension during the Prem season? Maybe, utlimately, he wouldn't have made it and may never do so now; but surely he was worth persisting with for another couple of seasons at a cost just less than a ticket at Selhurst. I can only surmise that he must have really upset someone at the club.
