i did this with some flooring that needed doing

local company quoted me 365 quid for the flooring plus 50 quid delivery, same product from a company in wiltshire 536.25 incl delivery, another company; 228 excl delivery. went back to the local company said i'd been quoted 228 and he came back and said best he could do was 265 incl vat, only ten miles away so picked it up for a few quid in fuel tokens. when i picked it up he gave me a 10% off voucher valid for a year for any future orders. think that was to stop me haggling tbf. marvelous marvin haggler. plus, laying flooring is a pure joy.
