I was absolutely staggered by those figures

I guess the number of deaths per year is known accurately in western countries so these figures take precedence over the 'confirmed' deaths. I viewed the 'deaths within 28 days of +ve test' as clearly overpredicting deaths but never thought it would be +130%.

UK 109 excess 257 confirmed
Spain 111 excess 224 confirmed
France 63 excess 217 confirmed
German 116 excess 162 confirmed
