Surely they are fairly restricted in what it is sensible to say about recruitment anyway?

Realistically you can't seriously expect them to come out and say something along the lines of " we recruited a load of s**t players" when a lot of those players are still at the club. It would serve no useful purpose (in fact quite the opposite)
