Absolutely right BUT

These were the players Farke wanted in the door preseason, so had been thoroughly thought through and assumedly well scouted ahead of time to fit gaps we - and the manager - knew existed in the squad. And even if not, as said, they would be our players that we could sell, not improve for another club or lose for nothing.

It’s not really fair to use ‘they may not have been as good for us anyway’ as an argument against hypothetical recruitment, imo. Farke should feel exceedingly hard done by.
