Webber switched plan midsummer from two to three BIG players to replace Emi, Skipp and the rest and went bargain bin for numbers as they were worried we'd have an injury crisis again due to Farke overtraining. Scott was on gardening leave all summer and played no part.
Missed our top two DC targets from Bundesliga as fees spiraled > 20 mill, which is fair enough, but as we all knew then stiffed Celtic on an extra 3m for Ajer and got beat by Brentford at 13 mill.
Most horrific is that we agreed a deal for DM Robert Andrich (who just got Leverkusen to 3rd) but balked at his wages, then ultimately ended up paying Normann that much because we were desperate.
Kabak never wanted to come, thought he was better than us, joined in desperation again.
We "advertised" for two players in Jan rather than having targets to go after while Webber was up a hill somewhere. We did ask about Eriksen, but couldn't afford his wages (and he preferred London anyway).
