Where sting got it wrong was in believing ideology didn't/doesn't matter

it does...the people are indoctrinated into the love of a greater mother Russia is far more important than the love of one's self and offspring. Always has been since Peter the Great.

Make vodka from the furniture,
Scavange mushrooms from the forest,
Throw your lives down for a supreme Russia.

This needs generations to fix, if it can be!
