We were unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on how you view it) that COVID meant transfer activity was reduced teh season we came down. Really, it would have been better to sell Emi then and rebuild a squad in the championship that would be retained into the PL. Of course the elephant in the room there is that we might well not have been promoted without Emi.

But back to your original point, yes, fully agree. We need to build a squad with a core of players that are going to be around for a few years. I don't have a problem with supplementing that with loan players, just prefer them not to be key players.
