It's tempting to second guess, but I do still wonder how we might have done if

we had spent our entire transfer budget on an Emi replacement and a goal-scoring striker, and kept a couple of the squad such as Onel and Vrancic?

I do sometimes wonder that despite some of the new signings being a step up from some of the Championship players, that they might have compensated simply from knowing each other, experience playing together, and the confidence that rolls on from a title winning season. Especially given that the pre-season essentially didn't happen giving the signings who were brought in early very little opportunity to gel as a team.

Most likely we'd be in the same or worse position I suppose, but can't help wondering.
