Saw an interesting thread from some German footy expert on that there twitter

Long story short, Bayern are winning the title at a canter every year as the Premier League clubs have hollowed out all their competitors, i.e. Bayern are the only club who can compete for top German players with the Prem, all the others are falling back, or at least need to have incredible success in their conveyor belt to keep up with the top talent they are losing.

Based on this, hard to see that a smaller German team will have anything like the cash available to pay what we paid.
