if we had someone who could knock them down or lay them off to Earnie. Earnie was at his most prolific playing alongside Thorne at Cardiff, and they didn't play pretty pretty Arsenal-like football. At this level you aren't going to get players with the quality to keep it on the ground all the time - even Reading don't, they play with a big striker - so you need a striker who can deal with balls in the air. You'll get plenty of them whether you want to (and I agree that in a prefect world you wouldn't) or not.
